4. SHARE: Prepare your artwork for display, Upload to Seesaw with an artist statement. Turn in RUBRIC. Place it in your portfolio if not displaying. (3D work may be taken home unless you plan to display it at the art show.

INSPIRATIONAL CHALLENGE: Choose one of the following options (spend one or two class periods on it)
Option A
Create a visual respresentation of an inspirational quote. This will displayed in the school and should be appropriate and interesting for a high school audience. Add a photo of your artwork to Seesaw and explain how the quote inspires you.
Option B
Create a small (postcard size) piece of artwork that will be given to a person who inspires you. Post the photo of the work on Seeaw and write about the person who inspires you and how your artwork connects with the person.

ENGAGE & PERSIST: Create a piece of artwork that relates to this unit.
Think of something that you are good at. Playing pinball? Making the tastiest omelet ever? Doing your best friend’s hair? Tackling in football? Shooting a bow? What you did to get good at it? I am guessing you’ve done it more than once or twice - it probably took some PRACTICE!Your final artwork in this unit should be based off of a goal you have to improve some type of art skill. You should be able to talk about what you did to improve and show evidence of that growth.
FINAL PROJECT:
Step 1:
Set a GOAL. Specifically state what skills you will be developing.
How will you know when you’ve met this goal?
Step 2:
Make a PLAN. Write your plan down in your sketchbook. How will you reach your goal? What exploring, research and/or practicing do you need to do BEFORE starting your final artwork?
Step 3: Check in with Mrs. Durocher BEFORE starting this step!
Complete your project and write your artist statement.
Make sure to keep all of your research and practice pieces as evidence of your development.

We discussed the project. Students have the freedom to choose subject matter, paper size & media. Students should create a drawing that reflects the concepts we have covered in this unit.Students should consider craftsmanship & composition for this assignment. This project will be a part of your portfolio, so you should be creating a "showcase" piece, taking time to reflect and refine your work.
Due date for all assignments in this unit is tentatively Sept. 16th.

Watch this video and compete the drawing of a sphere. Draw your sphere in your sketchbook and upload to Seesaw.

Drawing Exercises
View the Drawing Exercises Slideshow. Choose a small object that has some good details to draw. Follow the directions on each slide to complete 6 drawings of the same object. This should not be something you make up from your imagination. The point of these exercises is to teach you to observe.
When you have all 6 drawings completed and labeled, show them to Mrs. Durocher. You may upload one or all to Seesaw, but you do not HAVE to.

to be completed in class (not graded)
Final Exam:
- No Phones allowed. No iPads.
- You will be completing a written exam and one project for which you will be given all the materials for on exam day.
- You must bring your own pencil.
- You will not be allowed to talk during the written exam. If you do I will take your exam and you will receive a 0.
- Once all written tests are finished, we will begin the 2nd part of our exam - the project. You will not know what we will be doing until the tests are all turned in. You should have approx. an hour to complete the project.
- The written exam is multiple choice and worth 20 points. The Project Exam is worth 20 points. There is a potential for up to 5 extra credit points.
